We had a fabulous time in Mexico. What I enjoyed most was:- the beautiful people who were so friendly and gracious. We stayed in a Mayan village and you see some of those lovely faces in the pictures above.
- the excellent food. Candace could not believe how much these two small Singaporeans could EAT! We went out of our way to try all the local food, which proved to be so different from anything you get in the US.
- the amazing pyramids and the fascinating Mayan civilization; it is hard to imagine how they managed to build all those pyramids and majestic cities... Uxmal, Chichen Itza, Tulum, Ek Balam...
- pretty colonial towns filled with character and old-world charm
If anyone is looking for an interesting holiday destination, Mexico's Yucatan peninsula is definitely one to consider. We felt that we learnt so much and saw so much.. from the glitzy beach resorts tohe remnants of an ancient civilization.
