Wedding of Ruth and Andrew Hastie

This weekend was filled with so many highs and lows. After spending a total of 4 weeks together in the same continent and about 4 months apart, Ruth and Andrew got married in a beautiful service at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, Washington DC.

Andrew and his family are from Sydney, Australia, where Andrew's dad is a minister of a Presbyterian church. For me personally, it was precious to have been able to spend time with Andrew's family this weekend, and to be affirmed that Andrew comes from a God fearing family and to be confident that by God's grace, he will be a good husband to Ruth. It was also a priviledge to meet Ruth's family and to share this special day with them.

Ruth leaves for Australia this week and we will all miss her dearly. She has been a part of my life since I arrived in Washington DC 4 years ago. Eugene and I have fond memories of her being part of all our camping, hiking trips and tennis games. She has been a great friend to us, and I remember many of our late night chats.

Our prayers are with the newly weds and their families that the Lord grant them journey mercies and a lifetime of service for the gospel.

Pictures to follow... Stay tuned
