8 Months After...

Yes, our baby is 8 months... and its funny how we count in months when it comes to infants... and its because this is the time in life when one's development is increasing exponentially very day, week and month!  In the past 2 months, Zachary has had many firsts: first taste of food apart from milk, first crawl, first experiment with finger food and much more.  It is the most exciting thing to witness his curiosity unleashed.

It is fun that we are now able to bring him out for lunch and have him as part of our table. He is very active and energetic and loves to play.  Even though our meals are no longer as quiet as before, we enjoy every moment of it.  Eugene and I did get to go out for a dinner date on Friday, thanks to our dear friends-- Mark and Laura Sossa--who kindly came over to watch baby Z.  Eugene even prepared fun questions for us to discuss at dinner, which was a fun thing to get our minds off the day to day.... and to find out more about each other!

The Lord is teaching us many wonderful things as we care for baby Z.  We pray daily for His grace to love and care for Zachary.  Most of all, we pray that God will make him a boy who loves the Lord and obeys His commandments.  It is a reminder to us that even now as we interact with Zachary, we want to use every opportunity to teach Him about God.  We want it to be natural for him to hear about Jesus in his life so that the Lord can use it to instruct his little heart, whether it is at 8 months or 8 years.  We want to provide physical and spiritual food for his little tummy... and plant the seeds.

We love the CD by the Gettys for children: 'Songs That Jesus Said'.  This morning, we got to sing a couple of them at breakfast... and its a whole lot of fun and wonderful lyrics...."Store up good in your heart... cos what you have inside is not gonna hide.. so store up good in your heart".  Message is good for adults and kids really.
