Proverbs

We were blessed to fellowship with brothers and sisters from the Chinese Christian Church of Germantown today. We were overwhelmed by their love for the Lord, hospitaility and the encouragement they were to us. Most of all, it was wonderful for us to be in a different cultural context (even though we are Chinese, it was my first time listening to God's word taught and prayer in Chinese), and yet have an immediate common bond in Christ with these friends. I enjoyed studying the bible in Chinese and be thankful that in many parts of the word, people can read the bible in their language and be tranformed.

Pastor Kuo led a bible study on Proverbs 14, which was insightful, engaging and so relevant to our lives.

As we walk in our journey of life, we will always be confronted with situations, conflicts and decisions that require wisdom. As Christians, we know that true wisdom comes from the Lord. Life is meaningless and directionless without our anchor in Christ. We cannot possibly try to make sense of the world without knowing God, who is the creator of the heavens and the earth. When we lean on our own human knowledge, will will make mistakes. Sometimes, we do what we think is right, failing to seek the Lord in prayer and humility -- and that could lead us to eternal regret and death. Let us ALWAYS seek the Lord, as He gives us wisdom and redeems us even from our mistakes. He uses even our weaknesses and sufferings to glorify Himself and to mold us for His kingdom.

Let us always seek to walk our lives in God's way and not the fools' way. May the Lord help us in this.

箴 言 1:7 敬 畏 耶 和 华 是 知 识 的 开 端。愚 妄 人 藐 视 智 慧 和 训 诲 。
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

14:12 有 一 条 路 人 以 为 正 。 至 终 成 为 死 亡 之 路 。
14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
