Day 3: Pulau Ubin

our bumboat! Coastal broadwalk

Enjoying a fresh coconut!
Durian (thorny, pungent fruit in basket) picking?
Mangrove swamps

Ruth and I spent a day in the rural outdoors today! Pulau Ubin is a small island off the coast of Singapore. You take the old fashioned bumboats across to the island. From there, we rented bikes and cycled around the island. We walked around the mangrove swamps which is in a conservation area called Chek Jawa.

It was a wonderful day... sort of like a glimpse into what parts of Singapore was like just decades ago -- a sleepy fishing village.

We're glad that you are getting exercise with all of that wonderful food you're eating :>). It looks like a paradise in the pictures, and the night safari sounds like an amazing experience! Ruth's Aunt Pat will be so jealous. Again, thanks for sharing! Love, Denise xoxo
