We have been back for a month! Time flies.

We are easing back into life here and getting used to being away from our familiar things - Missing spring, cherry blossoms, old cobblestone paths, our low-mobile (we still say that that's our car when we see a blue mazda here), our home, Ebenezers coffee, friends, friends, friends, church, church, church and so much more.  I think we realize that we have been immensely enriched by our time in the US... and that we are just different people now... We are so thankful to have friendships that we know will last a lifetime and are excited to continue to share our lives with many near and far just from this blog. So, KEEP READING!

Many people ask me why we are back.  Truth be told, we loved being in DC and that is home still in many ways.  I don't know if we will ever feel as comfortable here in Singapore.  And that's ALRIGHT!  Because God's grace is especially sufficient in our weakness and discomfort.  In the bible, Peter calls christians exiles of this world.  Maybe being back in Singapore is helping me to understand what that means..  That I don't fit in here because it is not the ultimate home.  But like the church that Peter writes to, we are called to persevere and not to 'fit in'; to be a light in a dark world.  So, that's why we are back... because Eugene has been equipped to teach God's word and that our family can be a blessing to others here because we are 'strange'!

"Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. " 1 Peter 2

Of course, God does not leave us to run this race alone.  God's power and mercy alone sustains us.  Not our own feeble hands.   Eugene, Zachy and I cannot even count the number of ways that God has already provided for us abundantly- church, family, ministry, new friends, home and SKYPE.  Indeed, we lack nothing in Christ. Praise the Lord!

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1
